A combo of my FAVORITE places to ride, old railbed, now closed river road, expired jeep track, Black Mountain logging road (%100 Good) to hard climb up to Abbotts Pond (very cute and secluded, a dozen or so hand carry boats left/locked there, so maybe do a Boat Crime, or just lunch time). Shagg Pond, Concord Pond, all nice to see, concord pond boat access is a primo snack stop, Shagg Pond Road climb is GREAT!
The second half of this is still an idea. The descent down into Dickvale is chill and long, but instead lets try climbing the old Black Mountain jeep trail (good, some chunky loose gravel, I've done it twice as a descent, maybe better as a climb?) to get to the ATV trail at the top of Lacroix Road, to get to the logging road on the top of Black Mountain, 2k+ft summit with a body of water (gross?) on top, looks like lots of exposed granite and trees at the camp, hammock heaven!!
Another way up or down is the old Black Mountain road on the way you start coming up, but it is HARD! The Koko Claims of Maine, seriously! I've climbed it twice, 1000ft climb, hike-a-bike takes 1.5 hours. Maybe with plus tires you could go down it, if I had Plus Tire Friends I would have them try. VERY PRETTY though! Large granite boulders, beefy glacial erratics! Water features. One house+ size glacial erratic in the middle of a once cleared area. Probably the best view/photo spot on the trip. 420oz of fun.
Probably 1000ft of hike-a-bike climb total, no matter which way. I like hike-a-bike exclusivity.
Some crimes on this trip
